Another TGIF that was much needed

It is another much needed TGIF. It is soo strange how adult look so to the weekend as if it was something magical. Well, it is! We work jobs that we dont like, to buy shit we dont need. Yes I know how corny that sounds but look at what we spend our money on, and I mean really look. We have bills that our parents never had but we also make alot more at an earlier age than most ppls parents. I took a look at my own bills and I really can live without the bullshit, but then again I really dont want to lol! Lets do a run down of the bullshit bills :
1) Cell phone, only a few people in the world REALLY need cell phones. But the devil himself could not rip mine from my cold dead hands.
2) Cable bill, I dont even really watch that much TV but satan save me if I dont have my high speed modem! And I now I am addicted to UFC reality show, I am so pathetic lol.
3) Entertainment, my mom used to tell me she only got to go out to resturants once every 3 months or so. I go to resturants all the time and spend anywhere from 28-40$ a shot. And that sure does add up after a while.
4) Sirius radio, I really dont need to pay for radio, but I love to listen to music and I cannt stand having to listen to the same play list day in and day out. There is a set play list, the corpurt monsters lie! Ever wonder why you here the same damn song by an artist that has over 1000 songs under his/her belt? Why oh why couldnt they play track 10 instead of track 2 AGAIN! God I love satellite radio.
5) AOL, this is one I am think about getting rid of. Even though AOL was my first and has not done me wrong. Except for those few time I got my service suspened for chat room violations. And yes they do keep track of those ppl that are assholes and get reported. Funny thing is I do not think I was ever nasty to anyone enough to be reported, who knew?
6) Credit cards, I am not as bad off with these things as I used to be but I cannt get rid of them. Without a good credit score people in the United States can not buy a car, a house and even sometimes get a job. Years ago it was not as important but these days you credit score defines what kinda person you are. I am in year 5 of my chapter 11( or was it chapter 7? it was the one where I got a get out of debt free card) and to this day even if I have money in my account I can not write a check out in any store. Before they take a check the call in to see if I am a rubber check man, I am not but because of my bankruptcy they wont take it. Thank god for Visa check cards MUAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH!
So to sum it up; We need all the shit that really doesnt matter. If we all suddenly woke up and realized all the crap they push on us is truely useless and became dirty hippie eruo-trash our world as we know it would come crashing down. The Christmass holiday by its self keeps millions of people in jobs and keeps the machine in forward motion. If we all stopped buying and consuming we would kill our selves. So I have to buy my weekend beer sooo all those ppl that manufacture it would be able to put food on their families!(line taken from the mouth of Mr.Bush)

Ooh, first to comment...

I think I am the only person in Ohio who does not have a cell phone, and I feel such pressure to buy one! Those guys at those kiosks at the mall are always shouting at passer-by's, "What kind of service plan do you have!?"---my husband just grunts at them and keeps walking.

As for credit cards, we have one, which we never use because our bank will not ALLOW us to use it. hehe

I LOVE the UFC...I had this friend, for a long time, he was a sports comentator for the canadian version of the UFC and a lot of UFC fighters came and fought in canada...i met quite a few of them, and had a great time....the BEST day of my early 20's? I am sitting there, waiting for the event to start...and There's one open seat beside me, and because we were VIP because of my friend, I figured it was some promoter. EXCEPT about 10 mintues before fight time...I look up because I see someone there, and who is it??? PAT MILITICH!!! I ALMOST died.. and so we proceeded to talk and laugh the night away....it was AWESOME

I admit, I've found myself (more than 3 times) stranded on the side of the road with my broke down car, I've been lost in the middle of nowhere, I've used more stanky pay phones than I care to remember---but all this STILL is not enough to have me paying $30/month for a thing that allows everyone and their brother to get ahold of me, whenever, wherever.

U sound a little paranoid ..(Jk) lol.
I would so have one if i lived in O-high-O. In the part of NJ I live there is no real need for one, there are so many fukin ppl I could just easily use someone elses lol.

It's so very true... Luckily to this day, I only have the following bills... Electric, Cable, Cell, Car, Insurance, Rent and food. Nothing more.. I was lucky enough to pay off the remaining 11 grand of my debt and i'm free. The new house will be soon, and I'll have a whole new debt. It sucks...

Yeah the wife and I want a house sooo bad but here in NJ if you arent taken home at least 1000 a week forget it!

I couldn't imagine life without my cell phone.

The thing I hate most about where my money goes-- is the bar..

$25-30 a night???
When I go out usually 3 nights a week...
Thats like RENT. I should be living in the bar damnit.

Well, two years ago, I had a house with 28 acres, a F-350, and two other cars and a bunch of other shit my ex-wife thought we needed...

Now I have a Ford ranger p/u that cost me $500 cash, I have telephone, internet, rent and insurance for my bills. Nothing more. What a damn liberating feeling.

Steph- damn 3 times a week. But I am not one to talk I used to go once a week and drop 70-80$. Now I go to the liquor store and spend less than 10$ and pass out from happiness. I am the economical drunk now lol.
Tom- We usually always spend the money for the women. But hell if the wife wasnt spending my money I would have a house full of exercise equpiment, booze, stuffed animals, and porn. But glad you got rid of the bad habit, I have one as well, an ex and a new one. But the new one was such an up grade I cannt complain :-D. Went from DOS to windows, and there is no going back hehehhe.

I can't believe you compared your wife to 'Windows'

And where the heck do you work that allows you to be online a ton and gives you doughnuts? Maybe I need to put in an application...

Another thing is now a days, so many of us "impulse" buy. I can't tell you how many things I HAD to have, and now it's collecting dust in our spare bedroom.
I mean, did I REALLY need that yoga mat? I used it once.
Did I REALLY need that telescope? I've had it 4 years and used it maybe 10 times.
My closet is stuffed with clothes I haven't even worn yet.
And keep me the hell away from Barnes & Noble. I could never buy a book again and still have material to read for the next 20 years.
We are just a bunch of spoiled freaking brats. :(

Oh god dont get me started on all the shit I have that could make me a small fortune on Ebay if I wasnt so lazy.
I should have a damn garage sale again. I did one for my mom and she said I could sale anything at any price, I sold most of this crap we didn ot want for a dollar. Most of it was worh ALOT more but we just wanted it gone. We made out with about 100 buck, not bad for seling shit from out basement lol.

I also like how lazy we've become as a society; what with the drive-up ATMs, the drive-thru beverage stores, the drive-thru fast food, the drive-up pharmacy, etc. Don't get me wrong - I love all of these things - but it's just more stuff we don't need.

Happy Weekend :)

I'm pretty good at keeping the expenses to a minimum but I do splurge on the cable. 900 channels and still nothing on.
