Walmart is evil

I was reading this post on AOL about this new documentry on Walmart. It is a low hitting Michael Moore style of low budget movie. Now I think Moore is a pompus know it all that has done nothing but stuck his dick in an ant hill and pissed off a few people. I am not sure any of his movies have really done anything other than tell us things we already knew. And pissed us off even more by putting it in our faces because there is very little that can be done about our meglomaniac president. The last documentry that really made a difference was the movie " Super Size Me" That movie got the fast food indusrty to be accountable for the shit they have been passing off as food all these years. After his movie came out we had nutrition info on the walls and trays and healthier options. And no more super sizing to the bucket of soda and fries. The funnier thing is that ppl at high paying positions got fired beacuse of this movie, now that is justice. First they put crack in the ghetto to make the stoopid and now they are trying to make the little guy slow and fat. Pretty soon the everyday citizen will be too retarded and too out of shape to fight the evil money in the white house.

Now as I mentioned Walmart is evil.....I want you to read this post~~~~~~ . It details the fight with America and Walmart. This company has destroyed the mom and pops stores around the country. No matter how you feel about Walmart this is a fact that can not be denied. I live in NJ and do not 'have to' shop there but some ppl that live in more remote areas with Walmarts near them do not have much of a choice. All their little shops were killed in the price wars and the only one left standing was Walmart. Also in there area I live in you can get a job that pays alot more and with insurance.
I have to cut this short, work is a bit off the wall today so go read that aol post and you can make up your own mind. Just a note for you all......I dont shop at Walmart and have not for some time.

I like you to Jenn-naay, so lets just say we agree to disagree :-D
But I do like a good debate only because I love to argue over the intenet......because I am retarded and could careless about winning lol. And to be perfectly honest my opions on Walmart are not hardcore...I just dont like the ones around me. They seem to only hire the worst imaginable. And I am so tired of hearing about all the cashiers personal problems being screamed for isle 1 all the way over to isle 12. 'Yes the whole store now knows Tryon left yo skannky ass for some white bitch, thanks for sharing!'

Wow, You would get along with my husband like peas and carrots. He hates Wal-Mart. He won't even let me shop there when he's not with me. By shopping at Wal-Mart all we do is give more money to China since they make everything in Wal-Mart. And as my husband has taught me, China will not buy American products, they will only sell their products here; pretty smart of China, but fucked up of the American public to encourage it by buying so much shit at Wal-Mart.

Define evil. Walmart is huge and as such has great buying power. That means they can negotiate lower prices for stock purchases. They can then pass these savings on. Lots of people are employed as well.

On the other hand the amount of choice will be limited to what those at Walmart consider to be the most likely to sell at a particular profit level.

When a company starts cutting workers' entitlements which are fairly similar across the nation then that is too much power.

In Australia we have a large retail hardware store called Bunnings. They have some 45-50k products on sale and the service is outstanding. I go there all the time to buy things for jobs around the house. They guarantee the lowest price, I haven't met an employee that wasn't helpful and very curteous, and they pay their people very well. Sounds too good to be true? They do have very strong buying power but their margins are still pretty good also.

I don't know too much about the insurance that workers get in the US so I can't comment on that. It does appear to be one method of encouraging people into gainful employment.

I'm all for the dirt to be dished and let the managerial-type people squeal. It is exciting to watch.

I agree Hammy, but walmart is evil...here is an example:
I know of a guy that sell excersise equipment and since Walmart came in all the small health food shopps and muscle head stores have gone under. Now only walmart is left and they came to him to set a contract...not a bad thing buttttt they did not negotiate prices. They told him what they were going to pay him and that was it. He is taking a pay cut and is even starting an online store so he can cut of from the evil that is walmart when the contract is up. I guess its good becuase he got off his ass and entered the tech age and opened his eyes to evil that is walmart.
-Side note: Walmarts have been known to just close up shop after doing this leaving the towns with nothing. If walmart were to do this here he would be forced to move or close up all toghter.
