Very late on this one

I have been trying to cure myself of my lazy ways on sooooo many levels. And this includes my blog. I am late on this I know so dont be to hard on me.
Uruguay beat Paraguay 3-0 for the win of the American Cup! Like I said I am late, kill me NOW!

Now I am not a huge fan of spectator sports for many reason, it does nothing for me, I could careless about what team beat this team or the fact that if one team wins over another my life doesn't change what so ever.
But my wife is from South America so you know what sport is well followed in my house.......that right soccer.....oh wait I am sorry Fotobul....or ball or whatever. And my stance doesn't change on this when soccer time comes around. I wont go into a rant about my dislike of this sport, which the sport itself is one hell of a sport to play, but I will say I have a true hate for the bullshit in this game.
What do I mean by bullshit you ask? The trick of pretending to get hurt by the opposite team in hopes of getting a flag called on the player or to get a free kick. Sorry but that is bullshit in my book. I have had to leave the room more than once after seeing this strategy being used over and over again.
Come on, is that all you got? Pretending you got hurt? Come on there are cameras everywhere and the whole world just saw you fake an injury, and very poorly at that. Imagine if they did this in boxing or rugby? You would be laughed out of the ring or the field. I am sorry for this rant over a rather well played match by Uruguay. Which by the way they only pretended to get hurt a few times.

This was goallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll number three which just about set in stone who was going home the winner

Sister in Law, Sharon and wife celebrating their country's win.

The wife wanted to go down to this Uruguayan bakery where all of the 100 or soo people from Uruguay where going to go to celebrate the win. Here we have Sharon showing that in all the excitement she forgot to fix her pants.

It was a hot and steamy day, the humidity jumped to about a %100 the moment we got into the crowd. It was wild but in a very controlled kind of way; no fights, no one vomiting, a few drunks here and there but in all a very good crowd.

Now when I said the 100 or soo Uruguayans were going to be in one spot I meant it! It was not a complete mob scene but there were alot of people in a very small area.

Here we have the wife and her sister showing their country pride.

Here is another picture of one of the drummers, and for the life of me I cannt remember his name?!?!?!

I am not sure if that was his truck he was standing on but the whole time we were there I did not hear anyone scream, "Hey asshole get off my truck!"

Well, all this noise did bring the cops out. At first they did nothing but as more and more peopled showed up they had to block off the street. And they even took time to take care of some police business with one of the locals. PS.....he wasnt part of our group lol

So much South American stuff going on in one small area!

Just some random crowd shot with a girl and her party cup!

Nothing says party guy like no shirt and a flag for a cape!

They were signing all kinds of songs I didnt know, but then again I dont speak Spanish haha

Well after a time the police did have to break us up and asked us to take to the park across the street. There was no permit for this celebration so technically we were all breaking the law. And even once we got to the park the cops kept harassing us, but we then learned that as long as we keep moving we could continue. Rules rules rules......they were made to be broken and bent to fit our needs and wants haha.

Oh and this guy, no clue i guess he likes women I dont know......

The popo making sure we all listened to the rules and that no one stood in one spot for too long. I wonder if jogging in place counted as well?

I took this one for one obvious reason.....I have never seen this one before. I had a friend that had the back of his neck pierced, this tongue, his eye brow and even that little piece of skin that connects the top lip to your gum line.....yeah that little piece of skin inside your mouth between your teeth and lip(And I know anyone reading this is tonguing it right now)....his nose and a good number of them in his ears as well. But he did not have this one! Sorry Dave she got you on this one!

I know this looks like the beginning of something very bad, but everyone listened and obeyed. We kept it civil and, as far as I can tell, no one was arrested that day.

In all everyone had fun and everyone went home knowing that even thou the other team tried Uruguay took home the cup. Better luck next year, may this time around you should work on your game instead of your acting.

Dan was in Elizabeth!

That is right folks, Dan Aykrod was at Bayway Liquor's in Elizabeth, NJ and I was there to see him. He was there promoting his new Vodka, Crystal Skull Vodka. It is fashioned from a real human skull and represents the same idea and myth from that crappy Indiana Jones movie. Sorry, I love Indiana Jones but how many times can that same old snake joke really be all that funny?
But anyway, we had a little insider information on this so we did get to slide on in a little bit ahead of everyone. Nothing along the lines of going in the back and sitting down with him.....which would have FUCKING ROCKED....but hey I got pretty damn close.
Here we have a picture of a car that was driven by these really strange looking bunch from way upstate NY. Unfortunately I did not get them in the shot, but they might have flung some cheap Hot Topic makeup at me or poked out my eye with some cheesy pewter spiked ring or something. They had these stickers all over there car.....oh sweet smokes are 'only' $7 now!

Here we have the great moment of his arrival. There was some wacky woman screaming "Welcome to Elizabeth Dan!" the whole time he was outside the store talking with...whomever. Man you got to love these people!

Here we have Dan walking from the back office to the seat of honor. One thing to note here:
Seconds before this was taken a whole throng of teen girls were seen leaving that said room and ushered out the back......makes you go hmmmmm just a little hahaha....but then again I did hear a rumor that he is hung like a horse....I am just putting that out there for a little food for thought.

Dan is the man! And he is a lot taller than most actors, hell Tom Cruise is what 4'11 or some shit?!? I did not get to talk with him personally but from all the conversation I heard he seems like a really cool guy. I will be getting my signed bottle sometime today....like I said I go people.

A little mood lighting and props can make or break the scene!

If you ever get a chance to go ghetto hopping your really need to check out this store. They have shit I will never be able to afford and they have lots of hard to find hooch as well. If Bayway doesn't have it, it either doesn't exist or it's illegal. Here is a little tid bit about the store I found online.....Whisky Guild.

The little bit of decorating sure went a long way, it was simple but very tasteful. But I really think they needed some of the local flavor to really make it.Like that hooker that was pissing on the sidewalk right outside could have been there to lend a hand. Or maybe that crazy guy that is always outside the door with the ashy skin and yellow eyes could have been in charge of tasting each bottle for quality control. It never hurts to help those around you, that's all i am saying....

I will be in possession of a crystal skull sometime soon I did not have the time to wait out the line that had formed around the block. But I would not walk out of a happy store empty handed! I saw a nice boxed bottle of absente that came with a spoon! I have been trying to find an absente spoon that did cost $30 or more and have been rather unsuccessful. But looky looky, not only is the box cool, it comes with its very own absente spoon! Now all I need to get is a cool glass to make it perfect.

But until then an everyday glass will do. I must say it taste A LOT better than the last one I got. This is a product of France and so was my first bottle, Le Tourment Vert. the last one came from Switzerland (Kubler) and it was....vile! But its booze so it will go in the emergency drawer, right along with the vanilla extract and the Ever-Clear.....for those days when you REALLY need it and dont have it.....

I love the art work on the box it came in, I am off to see what other things Ron English has done. I wish I could paint, but then again i have never tried....I think I might ask for the Bob Ross starter set for my birthday to see if there is any hope. If he can make Happy Trees so can I damn it!

FYI-I just found a great painting by Ron English and it coast $20,000! Fuck me running with something hard and sandpapery!

Me and the bruise.....

Last Thursday I was at my wife's job with the kids saying hello. I played the 'I got your nose' game with my son, a game that I have played a million times. But this time it left a small dime sized bruise. He did not cry or even take note it was even there. The only reason I knew of it was because the wife pointed it out. And that was the last time it came to mind.

Then around 3:30 on Friday I get a call from the wife that DYFS wanted to speak to us about the bruise on our son. I thought she was full of shit, there was no way child services was called on this. It wasn't even that noticeable! But sure enough the school did, the DYFS worker was at our house in less than an hour after we were notified of this. Some children go years without so much of a visit after 15 reports, my little bruised up monkey got the red carpet treatment with just one call;he must be special!

I could not leave work because of the nature of what I do so the wife was the only one available to go home. Now, we are normal people who do not keep their home in spic and span shape so we employed the help of her mother and her brother to run over and do a frantic clean job. Which entailed taking all the laundry that was on the dinning room table to the basement, flash washing the few dishes that were in the sink and shoving everything else under the couch. I never new a couch/sofa could hold so many video games and Elmo dolls!

Now after all is said and done and the social worker is happily satisfied we have beds for our children, that we don't feed them Alpo and that all the S&M toys were out of sight we had time to digest all that had happened. We are not upset with DYFS, they did what they had to do and went away nicely. But I am upset with the school and how they handled their end.

Let me count the ways that the Elizabeth School system shows their fake concern for the children:

1) They felt that a child was being abused so they made a police report and even had the nurse make note that the injury required medical attention. This happened around noon, keep that in mind

2) Child services was called and he was sent back to his class. A child in need of medical attention was sent back to his classroom with no call to a real medical professional that could administer it or a phone call to his parents to state he needed it.

3) At the end of the day he was picked up by our neighbor and he was never informed of a medical condition. Now this point has 2 areas of concern for me. One: A child that has been abused is now being released to someone that might be doing the abuse.....and Two: If he did really need medical attention he was now 3 hours or so with out it.

3) We were not made aware of him needing this medical attention until the social worker told my wife we had to take our son to a doctor because the school nurse made note about it. She took him and got a written confirmation that it was just a minor bruise and nothing more.

4) It is now Tuesday and from what I can tell no one from his school has called to make sure he is doing ok or anything.

From all of this what I got is fake concern and adults coaxing a child into saying something that did not happen. Because according to the police report we got, the teacher said that our son told her that I was mad at him and pinched his nose out of anger. Hmmmmmm in a court room I think this might have gone down as leading a witness, because the moment his nose was bruised it was in the presents of about 5 adults one being an Elizabeth police officer that was at my wife's job working security detail.

The report also went on to say that my son then told the nurse that I pinched his nose because he, my son, was hugging his mommy and that made me mad. Notice how the story keeps getting worse. I am no shrink but I know bullshit when I see it. Part of my rant covers the artificial feelings of concern mainly because all the school did was call a government agency and then wash their hands of it. If there was a true concern here, my son would not have gone back to a home where this alleged abuse took place and a doctor would have been brought in ASAP. But what they did was hand off everything to a third party on a Friday afternoon knowing that they had done there 1% and they were covered. Not that the child was safe or that the medical condition the child was suffering from was treated.

I am tempted to send a letter much like this one to everyone on the school board and even any local paper that is looking for a fun story of neglect, professional misconduct and maybe even endangering the welfare of a child. I know there are many cases where children are in need of help and I do hope that someone spots it before it is to late; but this is not even a case of spanking. And yes I do spank my kids, not like the way I got beat but punishment never the less.

I dont think anyone from my area reads my blog but my son goes to Madison Monroe school 16 in Elizabeth, NJ. I have just left the principal a voice-mail, lets see how long it takes for him to get back to me.....Time and date of first call 12:40pm 10/28/2008.
And just in case you were wondering this is what the bruise looked like on Friday:
